Building the Farm
How an empty studio shell became Charleston’s newest creative hub.
A Lease, a Vision, and a Lot of Dust
In May 2025 we signed the lease on a silent, dust‑covered space once known as Charleston Sound Studios. The bones were legendary — Wes Lachot acoustics, Brett Acoustics craftsmanship — but years of neglect left loose cables, tired gear, and carpet that had seen one too many drum sessions. Our goal: keep the sonic pedigree, re‑imagine everything else.
What We Kept
The Signature Sound – Wes Lachot’s room ratios and reflective surfaces remain untouched.
The Wall of History – Previous gold‑ and platinum‑disc photos now share space with new Polaroids of our founding artists.
What We Re‑Invented
Camera‑Ready Infrastructure – Ceiling‑mounted power and hidden cable runs mean you can light, shoot, and record without gaffer‑tape mazes.
Creator Comforts – Sun‑drenched lobby, vibe‑heavy writing room, and a kitchen built for marathon sessions.
Eco‑Minded Materials – Low‑VOC paint, reclaimed‑wood diffusers, LED house lighting, and vintage pieces.
